私はシンガポール国立大学で日本研究の博士課程を履修しており、フェミニズム文化研究を専門としています。アテネオ大学マニラ校で日本研究（ジェンダー史）の修士号を取得し、連合国占領期における日本女性のメディア表現を分析しました。また、同校では非常勤講師としても勤務していました。2016年から2017年まで、国際基督教大学の交換大学院生として学びました。現在は、明治大学の客員研究員および国際交流基金の日本研究リサーチフェローとして、1年間のフィールドワークのために日本に滞在しています。

現在、博士論文では、日本における月経を巡るジェンダー、身体、テクノロジー、生権力、そして文化的慣習との関係について研究しています。特に、デジタル時代における月経の管理方法に関心を持ち、生理記録アプリやその他の女性向けテクノロジー【フェムテック】がどのように女性の月経体験に影響を与えているのかを探求しています。学術ジャーナルで発表し、様々な講演や会議に参加してきました。論文とは別に、日本の大衆文化における月経の描写にも注目しています。

私は、研究プロジェクトの参加者を尊重し、彼らにとって安全で安心できる環境を提供することに努めています。日本でのフィールドワークに先立ち、キャンパス・セクシャル・ミスコンダクト・イン・ア・デジタル・エイジ（CASMIDA）のリサーチアシスタントとして勤務し、性的暴行への初期対応者としての訓練を受けました。また、2022年には、多様性を尊重する文化の育成を目指し、セクシャルマイノリティやジェンダーマイノリティの方々が安全で快適に感じられる環境づくりに必要な基礎知識を学ぶ「セルフガイド・ファウンデーショナル・セーフゾーン・トレーニング（Self-Guided Foundational Safe Zone Training）」を修了しました。

余暇の楽しみは、ボードゲームをしたり、新しい人と出会おうとしたりすることです。また、日本の音楽を聞いたり、フィギュアを集めたり、博物館を訪れることも好きです。さらに、カフェ巡りや抹茶ラテを飲むこと、長い散歩、そして旅行も楽しんでいます。

I am a PhD candidate at the National University of Singapore doing Japanese Studies, specializing in Feminist Cultural Studies. I received my MA in Japanese Studies (Gender History) from Ateneo de Manila University, where I analyzed Japanese women’s media representation under the Allied Occupation Period and worked as a Part-Time Lecturer. From 2016 to 2017, I was a graduate exchange student at the International Christian University. Currently, I am in Japan for my one-year fieldwork as a Guest Scholar at Meiji University and a Research Fellow at the Japan Foundation.

For my PhD dissertation, I am exploring the intersection of gender, bodies, technology, biopower, and cultural practices surrounding menstruation in Japan--to which this website is dedicated. I am interested in learning how women navigate menstruation in a digital age, primarily through the use of period-tracking apps and other female technologies. I have published in journals and participated in various talks and conferences. Aside from my dissertation, I am looking at the portrayal of menstruation in Japanese popular culture.

I value my participants and strive to provide a safe space for them. I am trained as a sexual assault first responder for my work as a research assistant in Campus Sexual Misconduct in a Digital Age (CASMIDA), where I worked prior to my fieldwork in Japan. I have also taken Self-Guided Foundational Safe Zone Training in 2022.

In my spare time, I play board games, and I try to meet new people. I also listen to Japanese music, collect figures, and visit museums. I also enjoy cafe hopping, drinking matcha latte, taking long walks, and traveling.
